THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Vantera Coffee Bean Company (VCBC), a majority African American-owned operation specializing in Ethiopian coffee, today announced a licensing and endorsement partnership with celebrity chef Kelvin Fernandez.

Fernandez is a Dominican-American chef born and raised in New York City, where he became the youngest ever executive chef within the city's fine dining scene at just 22 years old. He later appeared on television programs like Food Network's Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay, where he emerged as a runner-up and a winner, respectively. Chef Fernandez has been awarded "Top 30 Chefs Under 30 Years Old" by Forbes, where he also competed for "Best Chef in America" and has won for four years in a row.

"Vantera Coffee Bean Company is a revolutionary company that brings more than just premium coffees to our customers," says VCBC chairman Don Polk. "Vantera provides utmost quality in coffees that are USDA Organic-certified, Rainforest Alliance certified, and received a Nespresso AAA Sustainable Quality Program Award, alongside a CERES GmbH certification. Besides our excellence in producing high-quality coffee beans, we are adamant about making a difference for people and the communities around them."

"Creating jobs, economic development, and building up communities are some of our core values," Polk continues. "We aim to help young people develop economically and grow businesses by providing them with the needed support. To pay tribute to farmers, especially women who have worked hard, Vantera established a concept program that is implemented to enrich, grow, and protect the life, future, education, health, and net worth of women and their children in Ethiopia."

Through their partnership, Chef Kelvin and VCBC are developing new coffee blends and flavors in the hopes of setting a new bar for coffee producers.
